If you are looking for a budget stager that will "kind of" dress your place up, or needs a lot of your help to figure things out, this is not who you want. I interviewed 2 staging companies, and after the walk-throughs I really didn't care to get a bid from the other ones. Spade and Archer exudes confidence and knowledge of the details needed to make homes sell. They staged a 5500 square ft house for us, and while the house was beautiful already, there were some areas of concern for design. A really long run of wall that never stops, and a nook in the middle of the downstairs hallway that we could never define. They brought in style, color, and nailed it on turning our areas of concern into stylish areas that became an asset to the house. Our house which was high priced, became pending within 10 days of listing it. They aren't cheap, but neither is a Mercedes, and neither is watching a home sit on the market. They guarantee their work. If you're home doesn't sell, you don't have to pay. I'm guessing they've never had to take that loss yet. They know style, and they know what buyers are looking for.

Spade and Archer very generously staged one of our apartments at Compass Housing Alliance's newest Permanent Affordable Housing site for a week before new residents moved in - many of whom were previously experiencing homelessness. During our Grand Opening, we were able to tour community members, neighbors, and press through a furnished apartment so they could see what it would look like full of furniture. It made a world of difference and the apartment was really tastefully staged. It was a joy to work with the staff and we can't thank them enough. I have had the experience of being on both sides of Spade and Archer's work--we worked with them to stage our condo, and we also purchased a house that they staged. When we worked with Spade and Archer to sell our house, I thoroughly enjoyed the initial consultation--there is so much complicated psychology that goes into staging that I had never considered! The designers at Spade and Archer were prompt, professional, and truly detail-oriented. The entire process went off without a hitch, and the logistics were surprisingly simple for us. We had seen their work at another location in a house for sale and were blown away. When we got ready to put our house on the market, we asked our realtor (who had worked with them in the past) to put us in touch to stage the home. Basically, they transformed our home, I wish we had used them for a consultation beforehand! There is no doubt in my mind that our home showed ten times better than it would have with our furniture in it, and certainly much better than if it were vacant. It's important to note that I never actually met anyone from Spade and Archer in person, my job is extremely demanding, so they worked mainly through our realtor and I spoke with them by phone. They are complete professionals in every way. Only problem is I didn't get to thank them in person, only by phone! Highly highly highly recommended.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!! 1000% RECOMMEND! I stumbled across a Spade and Archer thanks to the facebook algorithms (thx!) and what a amazing discovery it has been. We have lived in our Tigard home for 15 years, but never really figured out how to use each room. Add two kids, and we had many rooms that were a hodge podge of stuff (somehow our dining room ended up being the kids playroom??). Enter Justin...prompt, professional, incredibly talented with impeccable tact and wisdom. After a one hour walkthru, he outlined a crisp vision for each room and great list of options for us to consider. He gave us so many insights on how to use the space for our family and our needs. Fast forward 8 weeks. Each room has a purpose. Each room has warmth. My life is much easier because everyone in the family has dedicated space for their stuff and it's easy to restore order now when people leave their stuff out. We swapped some light fixtures, bought timeless pieces of furniture and home goods (many used), but added great flow and character to the house, and Justin's team re-arranged for great usability and family time. LOVED the entire process!!! Loved that Justin knew where to spend money, and where to be frugal. Loved that there was no pressure. Loved that he wasn't the type of designer that felt everything had to be bought at a boutique. I didn't feel guilty for being cheap on some stuff.

Amazing professional services with the highest level of integrity. I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience it was getting my home staged and ready to put on the market. I had amazing advice and recommendations from Jason Curtis. He came to my home (arrived exactly on time), and he spent an hour with me. He told me about the three levels of services offered by Spade and Archer, and then he told me that I did not need any of them because my home really did not need that much to be ready. Nonetheless, he spent the hour, gave me a list of small things to change, and then he shook my hand and left. There was no charge for his help, and he offered his card in case I had any other questions to ask. I made most of the suggested changes, and they made a huge difference. I like what he suggested so much and the difference it made, that I was tempted not to list my home for sale after all! I did, however, put it on the market today with an incredible virtual tour in which my home looks stunning. I feel that Jason's help will lead to a quick sale. How refreshing to work with a staging company and design professionals who operate with integrity rather than a pushy, hard sell approach. I would also mention that both the realtor and the photographer were extremely impressed with what I accomplished with Jason's recommendations. We used Spade and Archer in the fall 2010 to help us sell our house. The initial walk-through with was inspiring, we had some problem areas and they were really positive and gave us lots of tips. We had a bit of homework before the installation day, like painting and getting some minor repairs done. The day they came was so fun. They worked liked little bees, moving this here and that there, using a lot of what we already had and bringing other stuff from their warehouse. Our house looked so good that when it sold we asked them for design help on our new house.

We received an offer many thousands over the asking price in one day. Unfortunately, that buyer backed out for other reasons, but Spade and Archer's work helped sell our house again within a week. I chose Spade and Archer to update the look of my home before putting it on the market this month. Creative director Justin Riordan was amazing. He toured my home proposing a few color changes in bathrooms as well as small projects that would help showcase my lovely older home. I knew my living room couches (which have survived 2 boys) were dated but as we are planning to downsize I do not want to purchase anything that will be unsuitable in our next home. Justin proposed renting new living room furniture as well as additional lighting. He provided detailed clear pricing and terms for staging my home with my things as well as the rented items. His team arrived 2 weeks ago and proceeded to rearrange my furniture, art work, and pottery, showcasing the scale and purpose of different rooms in my house. At the end of the day, while touring my house, I thought "I should have done this years ago - this layout makes so much sense!" One of the reasons I initially chose Spade and Archer is Justin has a degree in architecture with a focus on construction management. He was able to legitimately discuss such options as adding a sink in the master bedroom and building new entry gates to my garden. Using Spade and Archer took away the HUGE stress of making decisions of what looks best to show off my home. I learned selling a home is different than living in a home. Using this firm also saved me money as I was planning to purchase new pillows, lamps, and rugs. Justin has an uncanny ability to use what you have (grandma's chair, pottery I hadn't brought out in years) to help people see the rooms in your home as their own. We have been on the market about a week and feel confident that the services Spade and Archer provided will really make a difference in the successful selling of our house.
